His expertise in computer security is notably well accepted amongst the international scientific community, especially in the field of biometrics; pattern recognition; computer security; and keystroke dynamics. Having said that, he was invited for a one hour special interview by Bernama News Channel (BNC) – Astro Channel 502, Kuala Lumpur in 2017, where he had shared some of his professional views, knowledge and experiences pertaining to cyberspace challenges, globally in general but specifically in Malaysia. Viewers are exposed to the culprits’ vicious criminal activities and their tendency to prey for potential victims in the virtual world, and how digital users can prevent themselves from being conned.
For his continuous contributions and recognitions in research as well as career, he had been awarded with several awards both at national and international levels, namely: Professional Technologist in 2019 (which carries the title ‘Ts.’ received from the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT)); 100 Years of Scout Remembrance Medal (received in 2010); Country Scoutmaster Distinction Certificate 2010; Research and Excellence Awards in 2011, 2014-2016; Best Paper Publication Award 2013; Impact Journal Excellence Award 2014; CEGeoGTech Excellence Award 2016; Service Excellence Award 2016; CEGeoGTech Researcher Excellence Award 2019 and CEGeoGTech Publication Excellence Award 2019.
